The standard can is only one of several sizes. The can maker Ball sells its North American Standard can in four sizes, from 12 fl oz up to 19.2 fl oz, and a slimmer Sleek can in 7.5 fl oz or the standard size.

Coca-Cola sells both smaller and larger cans. Its mini can holds 7.5 fl oz, and the company announced that from January 1, 2026, the mini can would be sold on its own in US convenience stores, next to a 16 fl oz can.
