Accessibility statement

We want HowManyOunces to work for everyone. The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

• Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring and a "Skip to content" link.
• Text and links have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 in both the light and the dark theme, and form fields and focus rings at least 3 to 1. Automated tests check the colors.
• Converter results are announced to screen readers without interrupting you on every keystroke.
• Fractions such as 1/4 are also written out for screen readers, as "one quarter".
• Tables have captions and column and row headers.
• All content, charts and answers are in the page itself, so they work without JavaScript.
• The site respects the "reduce motion" setting and uses no animations beyond color changes.
• Text reflows at small screen widths and at high zoom levels without sideways scrolling.

Automated checks with axe-core run on every template before each release, together with HTML validation. We also test with a keyboard and at a narrow phone width.

Ads come from Google and may not always meet the same standards. If an ad gets in your way, please let us know.
