You can use HowManyOunces without an account, and we do not ask for your name or email address. We measure visits with Yandex Metrica, which uses cookies. Ads, where shown, are served by Google AdSense, and in the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland they use personal data only with your consent.

The site saves two choices in your browser's local storage: your color theme (light, dark or automatic) and your measurement system (US, UK or metric). They stay on your device and are not sent to us. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

We measure visits with Yandex Metrica, a web analytics service run by YANDEX LLC in Russia. It uses cookies and your browser's storage to count visits and to recognize a returning browser by an ID stored in a cookie.

It also records how pages are used: clicks, followed links and what the page showed you (Session Replay). Form fields where someone could type confidential information are masked. We use this to see which pages help people and what gets in their way.

Yandex processes this data under its privacy policy. To stop Yandex Metrica on every site, use its opt-out add-on for Chrome and Firefox, or block cookies in your browser.

The site may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and to measure them.

• UK, EEA and Switzerland: a consent message from a Google-certified consent platform, which uses the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, asks for your choice before personalized ads or ad cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time with the "Privacy choices" link in the footer.
• United States: you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising with the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser.

The site runs on a server we rent in the Netherlands. Like any web server, it keeps access logs with technical data: IP address, time, requested page, referring page and browser type. We use them only to deliver pages, fix errors and protect the site from attacks, and delete them after two weeks.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. We do not keep accounts or profiles, and analytics data is tied to a cookie ID, not to your name. For requests about ad data, use the footer links or Google's tools; for anything else, contact us.

The site is a general reference and is not directed at children under the age of thirteen.
